Three years ago the Paramount Studios purchased “The Lives of a Bengal Lancer’’ and planned lor it one of the moct lavish film productions in the company’s history. Shortly after the story was bought the producing organisation sent a score of its technical experts, under Director Erner.t B. Schoedsack, to India. These men recorded Bengal Lancers in action. They filmed spectacular charges, fights with Afridi tribesmen and the dangerous tent-pegging sport—incidents in the lives of this colourful troop of Hindu soldiers. After three years of this preparation, research and actual filming, the picture ifi now ready for realease, with Gary Cooper, Francliot Tone, Richard Cromwell, C. Aubrey Smith, Colin Tapley and Monte Blue playing the hading roles.
