WAIPAWA SEAT

Mr. J. D. Ormond to Stand In connection with the forthcoming Parliamentary election, Mr J. D. Ormond, jnr., announces thut he w.ll again be a candidate for the Waipawa seat. “It is my intention to come out to contest the Waipawa seat,” said Mr Ormond in a telephonic conversation, “but beyond that I have nothing to disclose at this juncture.” Mr Ormond, who is well known for his prominence in local-body politics, is a member of the Patangata County Council, East Coast representative on the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board, and also president of the Waipukurau A. and P. Association, his enthusiastic work in this connection being responsible in a large measure for the success of the association s show last month. In 1931 Mr Ormond contested the Waipawa seat, polling 3484 votes, as against 3870 recorded for the sitting member, Mr A. E. .Tull. There were 119 informal votes recorded.
