ELECTRICAL STORM
Thunderbolt at Auckland HAILSTONES AND RAIN By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, Feb. 25. Phenomenal weather conditions obtained in Auckland to-day. There was a severe electrical disturbance early in the afternoon, a thunderbolt causing a terrific detonation. A young woman who resided at Grafton and who was hanging clothes on the line had an alarming experience. Her arras were numbed for several minutes by a charge of electricity, which was evidently caused by the thunderbolt. Residents of the district hastened to leave their homes. In one house a woman had placed a quantity of coal la the furnace operating the hot water system immediately before the explosion. She thought for a limo that a detonator had I'ollllll its way into file fuel. In Symonds street a man who bad served in the Great \\'ur*wtis overcome at the sound of the explosion He quickly recovered. Some motor ears which were travelling along Symonds street past Grafton Gully hailed when the detonation was heard and workmen in premises Gverloukiiig the gully were attracted by I a brilliant Hash.
