Meeting of Committee ARRANGEMENTS FiNALISED An enthusinstie meeting of the I’uketapu Sports Club was held last night tn finalise arrangements for the I'-irthcoiiiing annual sports gathering to be held al I’uketapu on Saturday, March 23. Mr. R. Inglis was in the chair. Au application for space for a ballthrowing game was not agreed to, it being decided not to allow any games of chance or sideshows on the grounds. The tender of Mr. ,T. Searrott, of Bay View, for the sole privileHs of catering was accepted. lor the broadcasting of results throughout the afternoon it wns agreed that a system of loud speakers be installed on the grounds. Judges were appointed as follow:— Horse events, Mr. 11. De Latour, Arlki, Wairoa; dog trials, Mr. 1). K. McLeod. Raupare; motor events, Mr. Harold Douglas, Napier. Mr. D. Howse, Ashley-Clint' n, was appointed handicapper for all axemen’s events. Various stewards were appointed to take charge of events and competitions. The chairman stated that the cooperation being shown was most gratifying and the club could confidently anticipate that the forthcoming gathering would eclipse all previous sports meetings held in the dis trict.
