Shakespeare Failure REQUEST FOR AN INQUIRY (Received 26, 1.10 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 25. In the House of Commons, Mr. 3. C. Wilmot (Labour) inquired whether, in view of the exceptional circumstances of the failure of Jamee Shakespeare, Limited, and in view of the heavy losses to innocent persons and the public apprehension caused by the firm’s speculation in commodities, a Government inquiry would be held into the recent attempted cornering of supplies. Air. A. Duff Cooper said that until the receiver’s report was obtained no further steps could be taken. Air. Wilmot: Are you aware that this attitude creates the impression that the Government wishes to hush up the matter? Mr. Duff Cooper did noj answer.
