Mr B. A. White, Sealy toad, Napier, has received an appointment with the engineering personnel of the Port Whangarei. He h aves Napier to-mor-row to join the vessel at Auckland. Air. Waldo F. Anderson, of Taradale, who has been on the staff of the Public Works Department, Napier, has re. ceived notice of his transfer to the department’s office at Murchison. Air. Anderson was successful in winning the recent motor rally. Brigadier Sydney Smith, of the Salvation Army, arrived from Sydney yes. terday by the Alarama on transfer to the Salvation Army's training garrison in Wellington. He was formerly divisional commander in Sydney. Accornvanying him are Airs. Smith and their daughter. Mr E. E. Porter, of the staff of the Waipukurau Post Office leaves on Thursday ou transfer to Port Chalmers. Prior to his departure Mr Porter was met by his fellow members of the Warjiukurau Lodge of the N.Z.1.0.0.F., and made the recipient of a transfer certificate. Air Cliff Haswell, of Waipukurau, leaves to-day to take up a new appointment at Whakataue. Air Haswell has for some years past taken an active interest in the Boy .Scout movemen', and has also been a valued member of the Waipukurau Machine-gun Troup, W.E.C.M.R.
