BAYITES BOYS’ CLUB

Preparing for the Winter MEETING ON MONDAY NEXT The splendid work doue by the Bayitcs Boys’ Club la Hastings last winter is to be continued during the coming months, and it is announced by Mr. Baron du Castro, the founder of the club, that a general meeting of last year’s members and of other boys wishing to join will be held in the Drill Hall at 7.30 o’clock on Monday next. This year no boy under 16 years of age will be accepted for membership. The primary aim of Mr. de Castro and his assistants is to provide a means of healthy recreation for youths during the winter months, and also to give them useful elementary instruction designed to fit them for employe ment. Last year there was a weekly series ot gatherings at which games, athletics, wrestling and boxing, and instruction in such useful subjects as woodwork and motor-engineering, formed the chief items of the programmes, and similar programmes will be drawn up for the coming season. It is hoped also to form a Rugby football team, and there should be little difficulty in enlisting a first-class fifteen for one of the lower grades. All boys wishing to join the club are invited to next Monday meeting.
