FOUNDERS’ DINNER

Woodford Old Girls’ Function Woodford House Old Girls from all parts ot Hawke’s Bay gathered at the .Masonic Hotel, Napier, last evening for the first annual Founders’ Dinner of this branch of the association, it being just 40 years this month since the school was founded by Miss Hodge. The Masonic lounge was arranged with large bowls of blue and pink hydrangeas and here the old girls met and chatted before dinuer. In the djning-room everyone sat at one long table, crystal vases of mauve asters being the decorations, while in the centre of the table stood a lovely basket ot fruit and flowers which was atterwards a gift from the old-girls to one of their members, Yliss Margaret Mackay, who was absent through illness. At the conclusion of dinner, Mrs. Neil Campbell, president of the association, read a telegram from Miss Hodge, the founder of Woodlord House. She wished all present a very happy evening and said how sorry she was to be absent. Mrs. Campbell then proposed the toast of the King, and this was followed bv a toast to Miss Hodge and the founders of Woodford House, proposed by last year’s head prefect, Miss Dinah Hunter. Following this Mrs. MeAlley proposed the toast to Mrs. Neil Campbell, at whose suggestion the dinner was held, not only jn Hawke’s Bay, but in all the branches all over New Zealand.
