DANCER RETURNS
Experiences in Australia Miss Jean Balluntyue, of Hasting*, returned to New Zealand this week uy the Makura Horn Australia where she has been studying the art of dancing iu Sydney and Melbourne. She was fortunate iu being in .Melbourne lor the Russian Ballet season and on Sunday evening several members of the ballet gave a demonstration of the cccchetti method of dancing and teaching, taken by Mr H. Algerhanolf. This was most interesting lor teachers and students and they were all very thrilled to have the opportunity oi seeing such excellent work. In Sydney Miss Ballantyne joined the ballet class taken by Miss Jocelyn Yeo, a late member oi the Russian ballet. She ako worked at a modern German studio under Miss Irene Vera Young. This work is very popular abroad and was introduced by the Russian Ballet iu several of their perlorniances. Tap dancing at the. Richard White studio were attended and also the latent in ballroom dancing with Air Cecil Miles. Miss Ballantyne claims to have had a lovely and thrilling holiday but there is no doubt that a great deal of hard work occupied most of her time.
