Easy Win for Manawatu By Telegraph—Press Association. PALMERSTON NORTH, Feb. 117. In a game concluded on Saturday, Manawatu, holders of the Hawke Cup, defeated Jlarborough by eight wickets. The homesters established a first innings lead of nine runs, and when Marlborough were dismissed cheaply for 91 in the second innings Manawatu had a comparatively easy task, and the winning runs were scored early in the afternoon. A Robinson (23), Jf. Neal (21), O’Sullivan (18), and Creswell (11) were the only visiting double-figures against the bowling of Gallichan, 5 for 29, RHatch, 2 for 11, Murchison 2 for 21, and Bcrquist 1 for 13. JLanawatu’s runs were made by Murchifion, 47 not out, McVicar 21, and Morris 10 not out.
