CHURCH SERVICES

The services to be held in St. Matthew ’s parish to-morrow-, the first Sunday after Epiphany, are as follow: Holy Communion will be celebrated in St. Matthew’s Church at the hours of 7,8, and 9.30 a.m., matins and sermon at 1.1 a.m., baptism will be administered at 3 p.m. and evensong and sermon will be at 7 p.m. At St. Barnabas’ Mission Hall there will be evensong and service at 7 p.m.

Those attending St. Andrew’s Church and St. John’s Hall are reminded of the fact that the evening service is at 7.30 o’clock. The Rev. D. J. A. Shaw will be the preacher and his evening address will be, “ Achievement and Satisfaction Through Seeing.’’ A hearty invitation is extended to strangers.

Services in the Havelock North Presbyterian Church to-morrow will be conducted by the Rev. 11. B. Waugh both morning and evening. Mr. Waugh will conduct an afternoon service at Clive.

“Protestantism at tire Cross Roads” will be the subject for discussion by the Rev. R. B. Gosnell in the Hastings Methodist Church to-morrow evening. All those interested in this vital question are heartily invited to attend to hear some straight-forward statements concerning Protestantism. The choir will sing, “The Lord is My Shepherd.” The morning subject will be, “His Love'and Ours,” and the anthem, “The Sun shall be no More.” Visitors and noii-church-goers are always warmly welcomed at these services.

In the Hastings Baptist Church, Karamu road, services will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. and 7 pfm. The general secretary of the Baptist Union of New Zealand, the Rev. M. W. P. Lascelles, of Wellington, will conduct both these services. In the morning his subject will be “The Need for Christian Courage and , Enthusiasm,” and in the evening, “The Judgment for Doing Nothing.” Visitors to the town are specially invited to worship with us and are assured of a warm welcome.

“Food for Heroes” is the title of the subject for the Sunday 11 a.m. Holiness Service in the Salvation Army Citadel. In this gathering Adjutant Montgomery will conduct the dedication of three infants. “Invitations to Mercy” will be the subject for the salvation and song service at 7 p.m. Everybody is assured of a good sing and a hearty welcome. At 7 p.m. in the Whakatu Hall, a bright service will be conducted by Commandant Feltham and Adjutant Lamberton. The people of Whakatu are invited.

Mr. R. Greenfield will be conducting the service at the Stortford Lo Ulidenominational Mission Hall on Sunday evening at 7. A hearty invitation is extended to everybody to attend and enjoy this bright service. Special singing. All welcome.

The subject of the address at the United Hall, Lyndon road, on Sunday night will be, “Signs of the Times Indicating the Near Return of Christ to the ’Earth.” Attention will be directed to the combination of many signs peculiar to our own age and to their significance.
