The Canterbury Jockey Club’s metropolitan spring meeting was concluded to-day, the weather being fine and very hot. The attendance was again good and the track in fast order. The totalisatur investments amounted to £35,774 (win £11,374 JO/-, place £21,399 10/-), compared with £38,325 last year. Elbanor was followed into the straight by Secret Paper ami C'oUossian, with Owlsgleain, Tunneller, Quite Soon ami Bella Hose close up. In a good finish Quito Soon beat Maroha by a neck, with Colossian a similar distance away third. Tunneller was fourth. Time, 1.26.

Cranford was four lengths clear of Mobile at the half-mile and entered the straight three lengths in front of Mobile with Cricket Bat, Silver Streak and Red Boa next. Mobile drew out in the run home and won by three lengths from Cricket Bat and Cranford a length and a half away third. Silver Streak was fourth. Time, 1.24 2-5.

Round Up drew out ami won by two lengths from Hororata with Silver Coat a length away third. Honours Lad was fourth. Time, 60 2-ssecs.

Out and Master Reynard but Hostis led at the six furlongs and was followed across the top by Synagogue, KlWck Out, Wonderful Gas Mask and Tauramai. Hostis and Synagogue entered the straight leading Knock Out, Wonderful and Taiiramai. Synagogue drew out at the distance and won by two lengths from Tauramai, with Hostis a length aw a y third.
