Establishment of Uniform Fund
EXCELLENT RESPONSE Ao excellent response has been re eeived by the Hastings Citizens’ Band to the appeal for fund* for the purchase of new uniforms. Several substantia) donations have already been received and the committee hopes that sufficient money will be raised this week to enable them to place the order, and w have the new uniforms in time for the visit of the Duke of Gloucester io Hastings on December 19. With regard to the donations published on Saturday lact, the first donation of £5 was made by Mr John Chambers. Subscriptions to hand are as fol lows:— £ s. d John Chambers 5 0 V Harvey Bros 22 0 H. W. C. Baird 1 1 0 A. H. Hayes 10 0 C. Baker 10 0 Total 9 13 4 In addition to the above Mr H. M. Campbell, M.P., has informed the com mittee that when the fund reaches £BO he will donate a further £2O. Anyone desirous of contributing any apiount, large or small, may forward same to the secretary, Charles street, Hastings. All subscriptions will be acknowledged through the Press.
