KING’S SILVER JUBILEE
JEvents of Past 25 Years Mr Winston Churchill, who is on a cruise in the Mediterranean, is writing the scenario- for the film of ‘‘The Reign of King George V.” According to information given by Mr Randolph Churchill, his sou, to the “London Observer,” the idea is to recall the great events which during the last 25 years have surged around the Throne. The dramatic political situation when the King came to the Throne the Budget election, the first achievements in the air, the anxieties in Ireland, and the emancipation of women, will be woven into some of the early scenes. These and other great pre-war events will occupy, perhaps, one-half of the production.' Then will come the four years of war. They will take one-half of the remaining part. The subsequent period to the time of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the King's secession will show Great Britain unshaken by the tempests of these times, and uninfluenced by the trend toward dic.tatonhiji in <*b*r coant.rtef, estr.b-

At the moment Mr Churchill and the London Film Productions Company, by whom the film is to be presented, are going through a mass of material relating to the history of the reign. Newsreels are also being assembled, and it is almost certain that some possessing great historic interest in which the King appears will be selected for reproduction.
