CENTRAL H.B. BOARD MONTHLY MEETING HELD. From Our Own Correspondent. WAIPUKURAU, October 26 The monthly meeting of the Central Hawke’s Bay Electric Power Hoard was held at Waipukurau this morning, the chairman, Jlr A. C. Russell, presiding over Messrs W. H. Rathbone, A. C. Holms, A. W. S. Longley, R. A. Fraser, Chas. Pattison, F. J. Witherow, J. A. Kerr and AL Ryan. The secret-ary-manager, Mr 0. E. Fowler, and the engineer, Mr J. K. Lee, were also in attendance. The Waipawa Borough Council wrote advising that the cost of removal of two existing lights to other positions, would be borne by the council. In reference to the installation ot three new street lights, the council had decided upon the suspension type instead oi the brackets. —Received. "1 have to acknowledge receipt of your letter advising that the Central Hawke's Bay Electric Power Board had passed a resolution placing on record its appreciation ot the services which have been rendered by Mr W. R. McCulloch, audit inspector, during the period he has been stationed m Hawke’s Bay,” wrote the Controller and Auditor-General. “I am pleased to learn that the members of the board have formed a high opinion of Mr McCulloch's services and I shall have pleasure in conveying to him the terms ot the board’s resolution.” The secretary of the Waipawa Hospital Board wrote advising that owing to the variation in the peak load hours at the Pukeora Sanatorium, it had not been possible lor the board s engineers to come to a decision on this matter, which had been held over in the meaii-t.me.-llieelvvd. Show it would be a good plan to make a display in Waipukurau and Waipawa.—On the motion of Messrs Rathbone and Holins this proposal was endorsed. The Finance Committee which met on October 19, recommended to the board as follows.-— That the matter of the repairs, etc., of hot water clocks be left in the hands of the secretary-manager and engineer, but no contract to be entered into; that whore electric hot water is in use, the same be charged for at £2 per quarter unless electricity to the value of 10/- per quarter be used by the consumer for energy utilised by the electric range; that a loan of £lO 2/6 be granted to a consumer for installation purposes; that the Whippet truck he repainted at a cost of £1 10/-; that interest on advances to consumers be reduced to 5 per cent, as from October 1, 1931.
