Hastings Council’s Policy AN APPLICATION DECLINED A decision not to allow the showing of films in cinemas on Christinas Day was made by the Hastings Borough Council when, at its meeting last evening, a request for permission to show a specially chosen programme was received from the manager of one of the theatres. The Mayor, Mr. G. A. Maddison, stated briefly that the council’s policy in the past had been not to allow Christmas Day entertainments, and on his. motion, and without further discussion, the application was declined.
