Broken Seats

(To the Editor.) Sir, —I am anxious to know who is responsible for the seats in the Hastings railway gardens being allowed to remain lor months in a broken condition. Two seats near the Eastbourne street crossing haye been out of order for months and cannot be used. Surely it is someone’s duty to report these matters to the proper quarters. If the public get their clothes torn on those broken seats the Hastings Council will be responsible for the damage. A large

number of people use these seat* in their beautiful surroundings and the job of keeping them in repair is well worth the trouble. —Yours, etc.. “RATEPAYER." Hastings, 28/9/31.
