Hamilton Man Charged

As an outcome of the fatal accident which occurred at Koutu, on the outskirts of the town on August 24, Charles Edwards, dairy factorv manager. of Hamilton, appeared in the Magistrate’s Court charged with negligently driving a motor vehicle in such manner as to cause the death of Ronald Iles. He was committed for trial at the Supreme Court at Hamilton, pleading not guilty and reserving his defence.

Edwards was returning to Rotorua from Ngongotaha on the night in ques. tion, being accompanied by Iles, when the ear collided with a stationary motor truck parked on the side of the road opposite the Koutu store. As a result of the accident lies received serious injuries, from which he died in hos pital the following day.
