Work at a Standstill

(Received 19, 11.45 a.m.) BRISBANE, Sept. 19. Work in the Mount Isa mines locality

is practically at a standstill. A few days ago a crack 250 feet long appeared on the surface in the Black Star area, opening to 15 inches. The subsidence continued, amj th® crack is now three to four feet wide. Stoped drives and chutes have been crushed.
