A FATAL DIVE
New Zealander’s Death
FOUND PARALYSED
(Received 19, 2.15 p.m.; LONDON, Sept. 18.
Mr Alan Raymond .Smith, aged 30, a New Zealander, succumbed to injuries received after diving from the high board in the Humstantion swimming pool. Apparently he struck another bather. He was found floating paralysed from spinal injuries >ud sent to hospital.
His companion, Mr Edgar Smith, son of Mr C. Stanley Smith, of Dunedin, brought a specialist from London, but Alan succumbed.
Both were engineers employed by the Ouse Catchment Board.
