During the month the following licenses wire issued by the Waipukurau Borough Council, and lees collected: 13 heavy traffic (£7B 1/10), three kerbside pumps (£6), one dangerous goods (£o), 19 motor drivers (£4 15/-), making 371 to date (339 were issued in September 1933), Fire building permits were issued by the Waipukurau Borough Council during the month, at an estimated value of £1355. Fees received totalled £3 15/-. Waipukurau has enjoyed a clean bill of health lately as far as casus of infectious or notifiable diseases are concerned, not one having been reported within the borough during the past five weeks. For the month of August the centrifugal pump ran 157 i hours. I’he number of units of electricity used was 7,314 and tho estimated amount of water pumped was 3,150,000 gallons. For the corresponding period last year tho centrifugal pump ran 128 hours, using 5,856 units of electricity, and the estimated amount of water pumped was 2,560,000 gallons.
