PREPARATION FOR CRICKET,

From Our Own Correspondent. HATUMA, Sept. 18.

The following officers of the HatmnaFlemington Cricket Club, have been elected for the coming year Patron, Mr P. i. Wall; president, Mr W. G. Fleming; vice-presidents, Messrs. John Wilson. J. G. Wilson, G. F. Kennedy, and T. Howard; management committee, Messrs. W. Culling (chairman), N. and W. Wright, A. and C. Wilson, R G. Grant, B Lowes, D. Stratford (secretary), C. Dalby and V. Stratford; honorary auditor, Mr C. R- Watson : treasurer, Mr F. Culling. The committee wishes to thank Mr John Wilson and Mr W. G. Fleming for their oiler of a field to form cricket pitches. The arrangement for the first practice was left in the hands of the management committee. SCHOOL DANCE. At a meeting of the Hatuina School Committee on Friday night it was decided to hold the annual dance in the Hatuma Hall on September 26, for the purpose of raising funds to purchase the school prizes For the convenience of Waipukurau people wishing to attend the dance it has been decided that a motor bus will leave Waipukurau at 7.30 p.ra. returning after the dance Mr Ken Hicks’ orchestra will supply the dance music
