GREENWOOD CUP MATCH PLAY ACAINST DANNEVIRKE. louring the week-end a match was flayed by the members of the Waipukurau Golf Club against Dauiievirke, at Dannevirke, the first twelve to count for the Greenwood Cup. At the conclusion of play Waipukurau had totalled 18 games as against Danne▼irke’s 15, and for the Greenwood Cup had 10 f in hand to the home side’s 7|. Haldane lost to Paewai and Coulby Rathbone and Kurupo Tareha halved with Henderson and O’Hara Smith. .Mackie and Bryce beat Barnett and Yont. R. Haldane and Peacock lost to Anderson and Gordon. Speedy and Rood beat Hulston and Melies. Bradley and Dunn lost to Grover and Quigley. Hartland and Tollemache beat Price and Ellingham McLean and Braithwaite halved with Higgins and Irwin. Grant and Erwin lost to Ailardice •nd Gleeson. TWOBALL Kapi Tareha beat Hapc. Reid beat Tatera Kuru beat Eaton. Parker lost to Cooper. Riddell lost to Paewai. E. Haldane beat Coulby. A. The Waipawa Ladies Golf Club held a most successful tournament ou Saturday, the entries received being easily a record. The weather was most unsettled but in the afternoon showed a marked improvement. Miss Crumpton, of the Maraenui Club, won the championship rose bowl, Mrs Prescott, of Takapau, being run-ner-up. Mrs Woods was the winner of the Otane Cup for the best gross score by a club member. > Other winners were: Mrs Douglas, Porangahau (senior medal round), Mrs Mclntosh, Porangahau (junior medal round), Mi's Tollemache, Maharakeke (senior bogey match). Miss Sargisson Porangahau (junior bogey match) und Mrs Kittow (Mrs Clark’s trophy). At the conclusion of the tournament the trophies were presented by Mrs J. Clark, the president, while Mr N. J. McKay, president of the men's club, thanked the visitors for their attendance. Miss Crumpton replied on behalf of the visiting players. The results were as fallow:— SENIOR.
