Eleven Follows and Associates of. the Royal Empire Society are on the Tainui on‘their way to the Melbourne centenary. The party goes south to-night and returns on September 25 and goes to Rotorua and Auckland, leaving thence for Sydney on October 1. The party was welcomed at Wellington by the local representatives of the society and the Australian Trade Commissioner. They later were the guests of Lord and’Lady Bledisloe to afternoon tea.— Press Association.

The New Zealand Cricket Council .is hopeful that an Australian team will visit the Dominion during tho coming season. This was intimated by correspondence received by the management committee of the Wellington Cricket Association at. last night’s meeting.
