“BEST MAN IN WORLD”
Praise for President Roosevelt By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, Sept. 17. “lie is the best man in the world,” asserted Miss Mary McMahon, formerly of Christchurch and now of Mobile (Alabama), who arrived by the Maunganui from Sun I’raneisco to-day on a visit to relations in the South Island when asked what she thought of President Roosevelt. “lie really is a marvellous man,” continued Miss McMahon, “because he is so sincere and for the people, and It is so easy at any time to get in touch with him. There is nothing high and mighty about him. One doesn't need a thousand letters before one can reach him. “On a recent trip to the west people travelled hundreds of miles just to see the train on which ho was travelling and perhaps did not cutch a glimpse of him.”
