MT. ALBERT DEFEAT TARADALE, Before an attendance of more than 1000 spectators Mt. Albert defeated Taradale at Taradale Park on Saturday by 22 to 12. The visitors gave a splendid exhibition of the League code and in return Taradale played a game out of the box. A heavy shower just before the start of play made the ground slippery and the ball was extremely hard to handle. After a few minutes’ warming up the players made light of these difficulties and produced sparkling tootball. GRANT I X L. CUP. At the conclusion of the game Mrs R. Grant, in a neat little speech expressed pleasure in presenting to the Mt. Albert capt. (Roy Hardgrave) the I.X.L. Cup flor annual inter-club matches between Mt. Albert and Taradale. The condition of the competition for this cup lire that it is to be played for annually. The losers to challenge the winners not later than August 1 of the following season. In the event of Mt. Albert being the holders and not accepting the challenge for the cup, it reverts to Taradale, who may then invite any other Auckland club team to play for it. If the challenge is accepted by Mt. Albert Taradale have the privilege of saying whether fhe game should be at Auckland or at Taradale. Roy Hardgrave, in a short speech, thanked the generous donors. Mr and Mrs Grant. CURTAIN-RAISER. Tn the curtain-raiser between Taradale and Clive Juniors for the Reserve Cup. Clive were successful after a close game by seven points to five. SMOKE CONCERT. The visitors were the guests of the members and supporters of the Taradale Club during their day and on Saturday evening were entertained at their annual smoke concert which was held in the Greentnendows Hall Tliev left for Auckland at 8.3 U u.iu on Sunday.
