Referees and Judges NEXT WEEK IN HASTINGS (Uy Te'igraph-Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 15. Tho referees and judges to officiate at the New Zealand amateur boxing championships at Hastings next week were appointed at a meeting of the Boxing Council last night. Tho referees will be Messrs. J. D. Donovan (Hastings) and J. Kilmartin (Otago), pnd the judges Messrs. G. Bush (Auckland), T. A. Heath (Napier), A. J. McArtney and A. Fyffo (Southland). For the test match between the Australian and New Zealand amateurs at Invercargill, Mr. N. McLean will officiate as referee

The council declared that the New Zealand professional lightweight title be vacant owing to the holder, J. Franklyn, having contravened the rules by demanding u set sum for a championship contest win, lose, or draw. The C. Rayner v. A. Hughes bout at Blenheim next Saturday will be for the lightweight title.
