A fairly large gathering of ladies attended the Hastings Home League meeting held 111 the Smvution A.m.y Hull on Wednesday, when the lte\ C. lanner spoke lor the last time before leaving lor Oamaru. file meeting openeu with an old-time hymn, tollovvpu by n prayer, and then Mrs Pederson, acting-president lor the aliei'noon, in a lew well-chosen words welcomed the Rev. Mi- Tanner. Afteinoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Lloyd and aiinty, with the help 01 several league members, and alter this Mr Tanner gave a very fine address, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Mrs Pedersen told Mr Tanner how sorry the Home League members were that he was I .'living and said how they appreciated his coming along so treel.y and giving the league a kind and cncei'y void to carry through its troubles and trials. Mrs Pedersen mentioned that next week’s competition would be lor the best article made from a sugar bag. The meeting closed with a hymn and a prayer led by Mr Tanner. k ERSONAL Miss C.
