H.B. ASSOCIATION’S MEETING ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The annual meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Cricket Association was held last evening before a fully representative gathering. The report and balancesheet, which appeared earlier in the week, were adopted. The election of officers for the 1934season was ns follows: —Patron, Mr T. H. Lowry; president, Mr H. B. Lusk; vice-presidents, Messrs R. M. Chadwick, C. C. Louisson, John Dick. P. Ashcroft, J. R. Ross, SV. T. Foster, ,T. I. Cato, A. F. Bowman, A. McKinnon, J. IL Stevenson; delegate to N.Z.C.C., Mr Foster; lion, secretary and treasm.r, Mr E. Elliott; hon. auditor, Mr C. Temperton; hon. record keeper, Mr F. F. Cane; management committee, Messrs R. M. Chadwick, C. C. Louis-

son, V. N. Hawke, E. W. Lloyd, J. J. O’Brien, W. L. Dunn, C. Canning, H. R. Hunter, A. Swailes, B. J. Mahony. The good services of Mr F. F. Cane as record-keeper were placed on record and a letter of appreciation is to be sent, also a letter of thanks for the untiring efforts of Mr and Mrs C. Elmes towards the social side of the game. The question of whether there are too many teams in the junior grade, making the competition unwieldly, was brought, forward’ for discussion by Mv A. Swailes, whose suggestion for two divisions brought forth a fund of dis cussiou. A motion that a recommendation to the management committee that two divisions in the junior sections would be advisable was carried unanimously. It was decided on Mr Worker’s suggestion that the committee should get into touch with the Hastings subassociation regarding the possibility of a combination of the senior grades between Napier and Hastings. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks tu the chair.
