NEW STOCK ROUTE

Taradale Requirement Pointed Out The question of providing a stock route in Taradale so as to obviate the necessity of cattle having to pass through the township was briefly discussed at the meeting of the Taradale Town Board last evening. In bringing the matter forward, Mr J. Wainscott considered that the time had arrived when all cattle, unless under head-stalls, should he prevented from traversing the main streets. The clerk, Mr W. G. Jarvis, stated that numbers of cattle at the intersection frequently constituted a danger, and a means of keeping them out of the centre of the township would have to be faced. The board would be wise at the first opportunity to complete the road across the Hammond Estate to connect with O’Dowd road, so as to provide a stock route. The matter was referred to Mr Jarvis to make inquiries.
