MACHINES FOR AIR RACE (No. 6).—Miss Jacqueline Cochran, one of the leading American airwomen, will be partnered by Wesley Smith, another well-known American pilot, in a special Northrop high speed machine, powered with a Wright engine. There are no detailed performance figures for their machine, but the general description gives to it a very high speed indeed, in tho vicinity of 250 m.p.h. over long distances. They have entered for both speed and handicap sections of the race.
