'll. HAUKE MEETING. Tho usual monthly meeting ol th.' Te Hauke Women’s Institute was held at the Mission House ou Thursday. A numbei of members were unavoidably absent, but those present thoroughly enjoyed a most able talk ou institute matters by the Federation president, Mr- Riggir. The competitions, coloured embroidery and something made of old stockings, were judged bv AL-.. Riggir. Airs. Brightwell and Airs, Ngata won first and second places in the embroidery competition, and Mrs. Condon (rabbit) first, and Miss Condon (gollywog) second in the stocking competition. Afternoon tea. was served by the hostesses, Mrs. Muuro aud Ali.sa Osborne. The afternoon closed with a vote of (hanks to Airs. Riggir and the singing ol the Women” slustitute song.
