RIFLE SHOOTING
HASTINGS MINIATURE CLUB RESULT OF TROPHY SHOOT. On Wednesday evening members of the Hastings Miniature Rifle Club completed the first round of a trophy- series. The competition in the previous trophy match resulted in several members gaining the possible number of points, and in the resulting shoot-off H. Dyson proved the winner with 8. Beattie second, and H. Gibson third. In a scries of shoots-off to decide the winner of the ladies’ trophy, Mise Newland took primary honours by the narrow margin of one point from Miss Chapman. A handsome trophy donated by Mrs. Perry for the lady member registering the highest scratch score in the last series was won by Miss Lovell-Smith with the splendid average of 68.
