Test Selections The judges of the Napier Competi tions Festival, which will be held next Easter, have decided upon the follow ing test selections:— MUSIC. Piano.' Open.—‘‘Caprice” (Sibelius). Under 18. —‘‘Pas des Vestales” (Wach). Under Uh—“ Butterfl y” (Merkel). Under 11. —“Swan” (Paimgren). Under 12.—‘‘Twilight Musings” (Gaenschals). Under ID. —‘‘Valse Gracieuse” (Harris). Violin. Open.—‘‘Roumanian Air - and Gipsy Dance” (Sammons). Under 18.—“Elegie” (Ernst). Under 16. — ‘‘First Mazurka” (Henry). Under 12. —‘‘A Belgian Lament’ (Thomas). ELOCUTION. Gentlemen’s test recital.—‘‘Hot spur’s Defence” (Henry’ IV., Act J, Scene 3). Ladies’ test recital.-—‘‘Portia’s Description of Her Suitors” (from “ M«rchant of .Venice”).
