SHEEP IMPROVEMENT

Voluntary Certification By Telegraph—Press Association. PALMERBTTON N., September 12. A definite forward move to improve the quality of mutton and the character of the wool of the sheep flocks of the Dominion was mado at Feilding today when tho New Zealand Romney Marsh Sheep Breeders’ Association announced the appointment of inspectors 'under a scheme for the voluntary certification of sires. Tho inspectors appointed are Messrs Arthur L. Wheeler, Lcedstown, Marton, chief inspector; Leslie N. Hoggard, Pahiatua, junior inspector. The scheme will come into operation on December 1 and will conclude on March 31, 1935. This period will be known as the inspection season, and at, the close the chief inspector, Mr Wheeler, will undertake a tour throughout New Zealand giving lectures and demonstrations at places and times directed by the council of the association.
