HOCKEY VISITORS
Australians Arrive MATCH THIS AFTERNOON The Australian hockey representatives arrived in Hastings by the 11.40 train this morning, when a number of officials of the Hawke’s Bay Hockey Association met them at the station. The morning had kept fine up till a few minutes before the. train arrived, but the Australians were greeted with n heavy fall of rain. However, after a few minutes the weather cleared and when the team left at mid-day for Napier by car the isiln was again shining brightly. The visitors were taken by private ears through Havelock N’orth to Napier, where they were met by officials and escorted io dinner. The Mayor of Napier, Mr C. 0. Morse, welcomed the Australian, to Napier a number of the officials also speaking. The team «ns conveyed back to Hastings via Taradale and took the field against Hawke’s Day at Nelson Park before a large gathering at 2.30 o'clock.
