Foursomes Championship IMPORTANCE OF PUTTER (Received 13, 12.45 p m.) SYDNEY, Sept. 13. The leading scores in the Australian foursomes golf championship were: — J. Ferrier and Miss Oliver Kay, 77, 82 —159; A. S. Deane and Miss Wray, 79, 87 —166: G. Armstrong and Miss A. Chomley, 83, 84-167: H. W. Hattersley and Miss V. Ebert (State champions), 82, 85 —167. Commenting on the women’s final, the “Sydney Morning Herald” says: “It indicated that the putter is the mightiest club in any golfer’s bag. The charming New Zealander, Miss Betty Gaisford, was a “sweet loser," as one enthusiast phrased it.
