Mr John Stringfellow, the well' known Corriedale breeder, of Moroa, Greytown, has accepted the position of judge of the Corriednle sheep at the Melbourne Centenary Show. Mr Stringfellow will sail for Australia ou October 11.

Mr Malcolm Miller, formerly of Christchurch and Lyttelton, has been appointed from a number of candidates to fill a vacancy for u boss singer in the choir of St. Paul’s Cathedral, London. Recently Mr Miller came second in a final test for a three years’ scholarship in the Royal Academy of Music, London.

Rear-Admiral Dudley B. N. North, C. 5.1., C.M.G., C.V.0., has been appointed Rear-Admiral Commanding liis Majesty's Yachts. As a lieutenant Rear-Admiral North served in H.M.B. New Zealand during her first Empire cruise in 1913 and the early part of the, war. As captain ho accompanied the Prince of Wales on his Empire tours after the war.
