NELSON PARK SCHOOL
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the Nelson Park (Napier) School Committee was held on Tuesday evening, the following members being present: Messrs McLean (chairman), Batt, Bullivant, Munro, Thorp, Tonkin, Wood, Ireland and the headmaster, Mr Cullen. An apology for absence was received from Mr Maynard. The resignation of Miss Dick was received with regret. The visiting committee reported that the seats were being repaired and the gates had been fixed satisfactorily. It was decidea to cut down the pepper trees on the Kennedy road side of the grounds as the roots were likely to damage the stone wall. The headmaster reported that the attendance was improving after tho recent epidemics. A Post Office School Savings Bank has been inaugurated and met with a good response, although it entailed a fair amount of extra work for the headmaster. The willow tries are tu have a further trimming, as the members wert> of the opinion that they were still carrying too much top. Accounts amounting to £7 3/1 were passed for payment.
