BRAKE-TESTING

During the month reviewed in his report to the Hawke’s Bay Automobile Association last nighl the association s service officer, Mr R. F. Stace, covered the whole of the district on the brake and headlight-testing service. Some 250 members, he reported, took advantage of this service. Although there wore still a number of cars and omnibuses whose lights were not up to the regulations, his own personal experience had been that there was a most marked improvement. Commenting on the condition of the roads, Mr Stace said that as was to be expected at this time of the year there was not a great deal of construction work in progress Most of the roads in the district were standing the winter remarkably well. The exicutiic adopted the report.
