SUNDAY GAMES
A Report Contradicted
PRESBYTERY’S OPPOSITION
(By Telegraph-Press Association.)
CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 12.
A statement, that the churches were not opposed to organised football on Sundays, reported to have been made at a meeting of the Canterbury Rugby League executive, was contradicted by the Christchurch Presbytery this morning. It was decided to write to the City Council and to the secretary of the League executive, explaining that the Presbytery definitely opposed organised games on Sunday.
