KOTEMAORI DANCE

A SUCCESSFUL'GATHERING

From Our Own Correspondent. KOTEMAORI, September 10. Miss Monteath was the hostess at a most enjoyable dance held in the Y.M.C.A. hall, Kotemaori, on Saturday. The hall was beautifully decorated with wattle and spring bulbs. Friends came from Willow Flat, Putorino and surrounding districts, making altogether a gay crowd. Excellent dance music was provided by Mr J. Cooke and Mr Gardiner, with extras by Mrs Newson and Miss Monteath. The evening was mostly taken up with dancing, but vocal numbers by Mrs McMillan and Mrs Newson, and a violin solo bv Mr T. Haliburton. added greatly to the enjoyment, of the oveiing. Miss Monteath ably accompanied all items, and Mr Morrin acted as M.C. In the Monte Carlo waltz Mrs Fraser and partner were the lucky couple, aoj Miss MacKenzie and Mr McLean in rhe spot waltz; while Mr« Gardiner snd Airs Harris carried off th.- prizes for the competitions. A delicious savoury supper was relished bv all presen*, and Mr Fraser (Willow Flat!, thanked Miss Montv/h for a very delightf-il evening.
