Small Sale at Waipukurau
Driving rain and a cold wind made conditions very unpleasant for both man and beast at the Waipukurau sale to-day, and the yarding of stock was consequently small and the buyers’ benches were but sparsely filled. Few fat cattle were entered, stores being chiefly offered. Only five pens of fat sheep and two small pens of stores, were penned. Following are the details of some of the entries and prices paid:—
Fat Cattle.—A pen of nine I’.A. cows, fairly grown and lightly finished, passed out at £3 12/6, a further pen of nine passing at the same figure. Store Cattle.—A good pen of -10 yearling steers, P.A. and P.A. crossbred cattle, in from Waipawa and ou account of Eveshaw station, told out at £3 4/6; a pen of 13 F.A. aud P.A. crossbred steers, medium-framed storeconditioned, met the market at £4 6/G; a pen of five P.A. heifers, mediumframed and store-conditioned, sold out at £3 18/6; a pen of seven P.A. cross, bred bullocks and stores, fairly-framed and in fair condition, realised £4 11/6. Fat Sheep.—A pen of 39 ewes, in from and on account Aramoana station, met the market nt 23/-; six ewes realised 19/6; a single wether made 26/-; 11 well gro«n and linished ewes . made 35/»»
