AUSTRALIAN WOOL

Prices Realised at Brisbane By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright BRISBANE, August 20. There was considerable interest at the opening of the first series to-day of the 1934-35 Australian wool sales. Values were approximately 20 per cent below those ruling last May but were on a par with the opening sales of the 1933-34 season. Faulty descriptions declined 25 per cent. The market was fairly animated for good combings for which Bradford buyers bid strongly. Japanese, French and Australian mills also provided good competition, but Germany and Italy were very quiet. The offerings totalled 9154 bales. I’bey were somewhat inferior to those submit ted at the 1933 opening eales.
