Rediscovery of Masterpieces (British Official Wireless.) (Received 21, 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, Aug. 20. The distinguished actor. Sir Nigel Playlair, who died yesterday in London tollowing an operation, was responsible, during association with Arnold Bennett, lor the rediscovery of many masterpieces of the theatre, notably “I he Beggars Opera.'’ which ran for years. Sir Nigel Playlair took over a derelict suburban theatre at Hammersmith tor his productions, which had a great vogue. Sir Nigel was taken ill while acting in a Shakespearean play in the open-air theatre in Regent’s Park.
