Cowboy’s Offence at Meeanee Jolin McKelvie Blown was convicted and placed on probation fur a period ol 12 months on a charge m the Napier Magistrate’s Court this morning of I hell, at Meeanee on August 111 of £2 m money, the property of J. N Guthrie. Detective-Sergeant Bickerdike explained Hint the defendant was employed as a cowboy by Mr. Guthrie. Both men lived in the. same bach. (In the 19th defendant left tho farm and camo into town, returning the same night. Mr. Guthrie later discovered that the money was missing. Defendant, when interviewed by the police, admitted the offence, lie had already spent LT of the money. Messrs C. D. Cox and F. .1. Annan, J.P.’s, decided that a term of probation would meet the case.
