Letter to Mr. Henry Ford

(Received 20, 10.10 a.m.) DETROIT, Aug. 19. Another example of John Dillinger’s supremo insolence and audac-ty has been revealed with the publication of a letter the desperado mailed Mr Henry Ford shortly before he was killed in Chicago on July 22. complimenting him on the excellent motor-ear he produced. “I want to thank you for making such an excellent car. If I am ever caught it will have to be hy someone in another Ford.” Ford officials first thought the letter a joke, but its authenticity is now affirmed.
