The Hon. Adam Hamilton, Postmas-ter-General, entered a Wellington private hospital at the week-end for treatment and rest.

Mr F. W. Sisson, chairman of th* Canterbury provincial branch of the Fruitgrowers’ Federation, has been elected a director of the New Zealand Fruitgrowers’ Federation. .Messrs T. M. Geddis (chairman), J. Barker, E. J. Herrick and J. P, Keuny (secretary) were to-day appointed to represent the Napier Harbour Board at the conference of harbour boards to held in Christchurch in November next. Mr B. B. Swinburne, son of the late Canon Swinburne and Mrs Swinburne, is lying seriously ill in the Nelson Hospital. His brother, Mr J. A. Swinburne, of llatuma, went south on Saturday and is staying in Nelson for a few days Mr B. B. Swinburne was the engineer who supervised the installation of the Napier tramway system.
