WEEKLY MARKET REPORTS
Gordon Walker Ltd. Messrs Gordon Walker. Ltd. report holding their usual weekly market sain of live and dead stock on Saturday last, when they offered a lull yarding to a good attendance of buyers. Prices throughout the day for pigs were firm, with prices keeping on a par with previous rates. Poultry was again in keen demand and realised very satisI factory prices to vendors. Fruit, pro- , dttco and sundries sold at satisfactory prices to vendors. The following prices j Were realised :— Pigs: Weaners 9/- to 14/6, slips 13/to 19/6, stores 19/- to 25/6, porkers 28 - to 38/6, sows £2 to £2 10/-. Poultry: Table birds 2'- to 3/1(1, W.L. hens 1 11 to 3/- W.L. cockerels 1/9 to 3,4. ll.<l. hens 2'- to 3/5, 8.0. cockerels 2/8 to 3/10, I.R. ducks 1/6 to 2/8, Muscovy ducks 2/6 to 3/8, W.L. pullets 2/- tq 3 6, 8.0, pullets 2'B, turkeys 7/6 to 13/6. Dairy Stock: 1 Jersey cow £2 15/-, I do £2. 'There is positively no inquiry lor other than picked cows. Harvey, Fulton & Hill Messrs Harvey, Fulton and Hill, auctioneers, Russell street, Hastings, report having held their usual weekly sale of poultry, pigs, fruit and vegetables. Poultry was in keen demand, table birds being keenly sought after. Prices were ns follows: — Poultry: Table birds 2/3 to 7/9, W.L. hens 2/2 io 2/6. W.L. pullets 4/eaeh. 8.0 cockerels 3/2 to 36, Ancona cockerels 2/10, turkeys 5/- to 7.-9. Fruit and Vegetables: Potatoes. Sutton Supreme, 2/6 to 3/- sugar bag; onions. 3,- to 4/6; cauliflowers, 2d to Gd each; rhubarb, 3d to Id bundle; onion plants, 3d Io 6d bundle; c-nnvits, LI fo 2d bundle, 1 6 ir. ar bag; I--- ion fruit, 19 dozen, apples, 1 3 to 1,6 , ease; swedes, 2/- sugar bag.
