GERMAN WOOL BUYING

Purchases Will Be Spread DIFFICULTIES WITH EXCHANGE Ju view of tho difficult monetary position in Germany, brought about by a restriction in exchange, and in the volume of imports, German buyers of Australian wool are likely to spread their purchases over 12 months instead of the usual six months. Germany has no desire to curtail its aggregate purchases of wool in Australasia. Recent restrictions have been due solely to the lack of ready cash to pay for imports of wool. If buying is spread over a longer period, the strain of exchange between Germany and New Zealand will be proportionately lessened. There is no intention of asking wool authorities to lengthen the auction selling period, as buying opportunities are available throughout the year.
